Episode 11: What Next? @ The Rose & Crown

What a joy this episode is! We're sat in the beer garden of the Rose & Crown (our local) chatting to Chris the landlord. For much of the last couple of months that's been a pipe dream, but on the day London officially registered ZERO coronavirus deaths, and the front doors of the pub once again open (albeit for take-aways only) it seemed the right time to reflect on the past couple of months.

This podcast is an an exploration of what drinking means to us, and and in much the same way that you'd talk about churches quite a bit in a podcast about religion, we talk about pubs a lot.

So what's next for pubs? When can we expect to sit inside, order a pint of (non-alcoholic) beer and chat?

Chris reveals all... and Matt is very happy to be 'home'!

    Geoff & Matt

Geoff turned 40 recently, and decided to have a dry year*. Matt is worried that this will make Geoff a really boring friend.

The pair first met in 2015 appropriately in a pub. Since then they have drunk almost 100 gallons of lager together** and even talked about opening a pub in South London.

This podcast is their ongoing argument about whether life is better with or without booze.

    * terms and conditions apply - more on that in the podcast.

** 6 pints each (average) on one night out a month (conservative!) for five years = 720 pints. 720/8 = 90 gallons. Don't tell our GPs.
